Last year Martin Oil, Barkman Oil and Martin General Stores assisted over 150 non-profit organizations in nine PA counties. In addition to organizations like Huntingdon County PRIDE, 4H, dozens of youth sports teams, libraries, fire companies and arts groups, we have large and small fundraisers. Every year our Bellwood office holds a charity Christmas Extravaganza, with local vendors. This year the beneficiary was Shriners Hospitals for Children-Philadelphia. Martin General Stores have sold shamrocks to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association for over twenty years.
Stores have participated in everything from Halloween parades to providing gifts for needy kids to supporting local football games. Last December, we served hot chocolate to 600 people at Saxton’s Community Tree Lighting! It was a big undertaking. But sweet!
