Martin General Stores

Martin General Stores is the convenience store division of Martin Oil Company. Martin General Stores, like the general store of years past, sell a very wide variety. They sell fresh ground Maxwell House coffee, cigarette cartons at state minimum, groceries, and lottery. We offer services, like ATMs, money orders, and gift cards. Most stores have seating areas and rest rooms. Most are open 24 hours.

All Martin General Stores have great food to go. We call our in-house food by the name "CARGO" and "Good to Go". CARGO is our own exclusive brand-not a franchise, or someone else's concept. It's our registered trademark. We develop our own recipes and prepare items fresh, right in each store. Something unique about CARGO "Good to Go" food is our great variety. We don't just sell hot dogs. We make pizza, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, subs, salads and soups. Many items change, seasonally. All of our stores also sell fried foods, like chicken, fish and fries.

The other great reason to stop: All stores sell Martin Gold Star Gasoline. Most also sell Gold Star Premium Diesel Fuel and K-1 Kerosene. LP Gas is pumped at several locations, and available at others by cylinder exchange.

Martin Gold Star Service Stations and Unattended Sites

Martin Gold Star Service Stations, which also sell Gold Star Gasoline, are full service gas stations that are owned and operated by Martin Oil Company. Each is manned by uniformed attendants who quickly pump your fuel, check oil and fluids, and take your payment. You never have to leave your vehicle. Our motto is "Clean windows guaranteed!"

Trucking companies and fleets especially benefit from Gold Star Stations' excellent service. All sell Premium diesel fuel. Major fleet cards-like Comdata, Voyager, Wright Express, Fuelman and T-Check--are accepted.

Martin Oil Company's original full service station was Reighard's, at 3205 Sixth Avenue, in Altoona. Reighard's was established in 1909 (or before), making it "America's Oldest Gas Station". Learn more about Reighard's by clicking here.

We also operate Unattended Gold Star sites, accessible 24 hours a day. Dispensers are activated by a special unit, similar to an ATM, that accepts only Gold Star or other authorized cards. Cardholders also must complete safety training to use these sites. Click to download a printable version of the SafetyBrochure.pdf.

Independent locations that are branded to sell Martin Gold Star products are listed in the Gold Star section of this web site.
